Puppy Nipping
(Biting)
Why
do puppies nip and bite? They do this to play, to get attention and because they
are teething. Nipping is almost exclusive to puppies and almost all
will grow out of naturally by the age of 6 months! It is very important not to get frustrated and
resort to using punishments or corrections which could damage your
relationship down the road. If your

Reward
her for playing gently and chewing on her toys. |
Give her some great
chewies. The best chewies are edible, or have food in 'em or on 'em!
Puppies especially appreciate something cold. |

Make sure she gets at
least 30 minutes of exercise per day. A tired puppy is a good puppy! |

Toys to Play Together
Hold a toy in your hand
so that you can play
together without getting bitten! |

Tie your dog back and play with her, if she nips say
"yipe!" and move out of "range". Return when she is

Sometimes a time-out is helpful,
