Stealing Food
Prevent your dog from stealing food
(a.k.a. counter surfing) by keeping it out of reach and by teach him
to "leave it".

Train the Humans!
While you are teaching him not to counter surf, make
sure he doesn't get any counter goodies! Don't leave food out where
the dog can reach it and make sure the trash is securely covered.

Teach "Leave
It" using positive methods and then extend this to items on counters
or tables. A clicker and treats are essentials.

Make sure he doesn't learn how great it is to steal a
steak off of the counter!
