BioBag Dog Waste Bags are the first compostable "plastic" poop bags in the world. Why put more plastic in landfills when you can use these convenient baggies?

  • BioBags Dog Waste Bags are a great alternative to grocery bags or other plastic poop bags! Regular polyethylene-based plastic bags (like grocery bags or regular dog poop bags) can take over 100 years to degrade and cannot be composted. Less than 2% of all plastic bags get recycled and plastic does not completely recycle. Plastic bag litter is everywhere. Thousands of animals die from eating or getting caught up in plastic debris.

  • BioBags are preferable to other "biodegradable" bags. Some manufacturers are blending additives to polyethylene to produce "degradable" bags. Unfortunately, this process fragments the bags into pieces of plastic debris. These pieces cause serious harm when mistaken by animals and birds for food. BioBag products use no polyethylene in the production process.

  • BioBags are certified 100% compostable. BioBag dog waste bags meet the ASTM D6400 specification, which means they are certified to biodegrade in a timely fashion in a municipal composting environment.

  • BioBags are GMO-free!

  • To use BioBags to pick up after your dog simply place your hand inside the bag, grab waste, reverse bag, insert film through hole at top of the bag and pull down to secure dog waste. Dispose of bag in approved waste disposal bin.

  • BioBags pack down small and have a silky texture.

  • Product of Norway.

I love these bags. They're easy to store in a drawer or in the car. I coud easily put several in my pocket or attach to the leash with a rubber band. Highly recommend these easy to use biodegradeable bags!

WORST BAGS EVER!!! They tear apart when you try to use them - completely worthless! Such a shame, since I love the idea of biodegradable bags :(
Pet Expertise response: Oh no! I so wish you have contacted us directly so we can replace these for you. Sometimes if Biobags get a little old or kept in a warm space they start to biodegrade early. It is a pretty rare problem and we would be happy to get you some new bags.

Have been using them for a month and have had only one instance where a weak bag broke. I have a medium size dog (23 pounds) and would not recommend the regular sized bag for an extra large dogs due to size. Have a couple in compost and they appear to be breaking down appropriately.

I foster dogs of all sizes for a local shelter. My forever dog is an 80lb lab mix. For larger dogs like our lab, the large bags are a must. We use the regular for anything under about 50lbs, I would guess.

These bags also compost as promised, even in my slow, unmanaged home yard composter (don't worry, it doesn't go on any food crops). The bags take about 6 months to a year to degrade completely under these conditions--I would say a few months slower than "regular" slow-composting items like corn cobs, for example. It helps if you don't tie the bag off completely, or rip it right before adding to the composter, so the poo microbes can get to work heating up the surrounding compost instead of dying in the plastic while they wait.
