Extendable Target Training Stick

Using the target stick you can teach your dog to "heel",  or to "go to bed", or more advanced training and tricks. Targeting is also helpful as a way to get your misbehaving or fearful dog focused on something else (the target!).

• When training your dog, sometimes you need a longer target stick when training behaviors at arm’s reach, and sometimes you want a shorter target stick when working your dog close by.

• The bright yellow ball on the tip makes your target easy for any dog to locate.

• Extends from 6 to 21". Pocket clip.

• Best for dogs under 50 lbs or gentle dogs as this target is not meant for heavy duty use.

• To teach your dog to target, simply say a cue word like "target" and show him or her the target stick. When your dog investigates it by sniffing it say "good" or click your clicker and feed a small treat. Repeat and gradually move the target stick farther away so your dog has to move a to touch it.
