The Baskerville Ultra is the ultimate dog muzzle! Every aspect of this basket muzzle’s design has been created with the intent to combine maximum safety and comfort for your dog.
Baskerville Ultra Muzzle Features:
Designed by Veterinarian, Dr. Roger Mugford, to be the most secure and comfortable muzzle available.
Tough yet soft! The Baskerville Ultra Muzzle is extremely tough and durable, yet flexible and soft to touch.
Secure and Adjustable Fit: The muzzle strap has a loop at the bottom so that you can thread your dog’s regular collar though it and an optional and removable over-the-head safety strap which ensures that even a canine Houdini cannot remove it! The muzzle's neck strap has a durable metal buckle with pre-holed webbing. The muzzles are made of a pliable rubber that can be widened or narrowed if needed by placing them in hot water, then holding them in the desired shape and placing them in cold water.
Padded: Neoprene padding on the straps for comfort.
Pant, drink, eat treats!: Your dog can pant, drink and even be fed treats through the Ultra Baskerville Dog Muzzle. We love how easy it is to reward dogs during training because of the wide holes which also allow for maximum ventilation to prevent your dog from overheating.
If you need a muzzle to prevent wound licking or eating inappropriate items, you might prefer our Jafco Muzzles. If you would like to compare the muzzles, you can check out our Muzzle Comparison Chart.
Muzzles are available in black or light blue. (The blue neck collar shown in picture is not included). If you prefer clear or white, check out our Jafco Muzzles.
When you receive your muzzle, make sure that it is large enough to allow your dog to pant and that it is secure. We are happy to take returns on muzzles that are in like-new condition. These muzzles are not recommended for small dogs with short noses such as Pugs and Boston Terriers.
Sizing: The best way to choose muzzle size is to use the weight/breed guidelines, as long as your dog is not over or underweight. If your dog is not at an ideal weight, or is between sizes, we recommend that you use these measuring instructions: Using a soft measuring tape, measure the length of your dog’s snout from the end of his nose to the point where the snout starts to slope upwards to the eyes as shown in the drawing below. Then, measure around the widest part of your dog's snout while his mouth is closed. Still not sure what size to get? Feel free to order two sizes and return the size that doesn't fit. Please note that we do not have restocking fees on items that are in like-new condition.

Love the muzzle--if anybody can actually be said to love muzzles.
You never think the day will come that you'll be shopping for a muzzle for a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. But there I was, measuring my Rescued boy for one. No one can know what his life was like before he came to Rescue: all I knew was that he tried to attack every dog he saw. My behaviorist wanted to expose him to other dogs, but not in a way that would endanger them. Could I find a muzzle for him, she asked. One that was safe and didn't restrict his breathing at all?
By the time I found your site I was both desperate and despairing. I knew I wanted a "basket" type, because it allows the dog to pant and drink. But I couldn't find one! (If I'd owned a GSD, I would've been set!) But then: there it was! I compared the measurements three times before hitting "buy". And then I crossed my fingers really really hard.
Long story short: it works! Little "Cujo" is getting better every day--the muzzle goes on, stays on, and he can breathe just fine. But he can't injure another dog (or himself).
This is perfect for our small poodle/dachshund mix. She is able to take a treat, drink water, and pant - all important for our warm California weather. She has adjusted to it nicely. Thanks for the quick shipping!
OK, so a teen on a bike came up from behind us and my dog with strong herding instincts nipped her on the leg. Rather than to risk losing my awesome dog because of something like this happening again, I decided to muzzle my dog when I take him out for our very frequent walks. I got one of these muzzles and it took one try to get it on before he almost puts it on himself. It is very comfortable for him and he doesn't mind one bit wearing it. Well, until we ran into a skunk the other night. Phew. He got it right in the face. He cleaned up really well but I've been soaking the muzzle in everything I can think of... and it still smells awful! So I just ordered two more. One to wear and one for backup just in case Skunk goes for round 2. (c:
Yes! We really like this muzzle. It is light, airy, and Athos can't work his way out of it. At first, I went with the clear Jafco muzzles because I thought they looked better. But ultimately, my Houdini hound worked his way out of it three times. (Plus the Jafco muzzle with all the plastic seemed a lot hotter.) So I decided to try this muzzle and LOVE it (well, as much as you can love a muzzle). It is much more open and cooler for Athos and he cannot work his way out of it.
I do have a couple of critiques/suggestions for the manufacturer however. First, the top strap that goes between the eyes does not stay taught and comes loose quickly, falling over the dog's eyes. After using it for a few weeks, we realized we didn't need that part and just unsnapped it. The muzzle could also use some more comfy padding on the top part that hits the nose below the eyes. Athos has a nice sore there from chafing and we've added some light padding to help.
We were having a problem with a mother dog having aggression against one of the puppies we kept from the litter (NOT a good mom!). This muzzle allows us to have no worry about any injury to the puppy but mom is able to take treats, drink water, etc. She pouted a bit at first but has adjusted. Very pleased with the muzzle. She has gotten previous muzzles off but cannot pry this one off.
I am very happy with my Ultra-Lite muzzle. He adjusted to it without any problems & has had no problems. I was using a greyhound muzzle before, but I find this a nicer compact size & lightweight. Shipping was fast. Have you bookmarked for future orders. thanks again
great muzzle that works well with treats. my dog is a setter/staffordshire mix and size 4 fits him perfectly. he is able to open his mouth and chew treats and his rinarium doesn't rub against the muzzle. i don't use the top strap because my dog doesn't try to take the muzzle off, but the attachment to the collar below the chin is a good idea. i recommend this muzzle, it's definitely better than any other model i've tried.
Thank you. The Baskerville Ultra Muzzle is working great, as well as the food tube. With treats, our dog was able to start wearing the muzzle immediately. It fits him comfortably and we have taken him twice to the vet with his muzzle on. He only pawed at it gently a few times, but has been wonderful otherwise. This product is exactly what we needed. Thank you so very much!
I bought this for my springer spaniel, got the size 4. It actually fits him a little big, but it works. I really really like it, he cannot get it off and he is an aggressive dog so that is a major PLUS! He can take a treat and drink. The size adjuster on the top strap however broke in less than a day...not sure how. Overall I really like the product. Thank you!
I bought this Baskerville Basket Muzzle for my Australian Terrier. I only use when I take him to the vet. He bit one of the technicians when she trimmed his nails. I had purchased a muzzle from somewhere else that completely prevents him from opening his mouth. I have found that this Baskerville muzzle is so much better for him. He can pant, drink water and even eat a treat. Very happy with my purchase!!!
