The Sporn leash is my favorite piece of dog equipment I've ever bought, I think. We live in lower Manhattan, so my dog Lloyd and I walk through crowds and very close to cars much of the time. I really need a short leash for that. But as soon as we're in the park or on the river esplanade, I can use the longer length. I hate flexi-type leashes, but the Sporn meets our needs perfectly. And the sturdy hardware is great. I saw a failed Fastex quick-release fastener a while back, and would never trust one. I don't generally like tying a dog out for any reason, but we do go to outdoor restaurants and on picnics a lot, and the Sporn will be great for attaching him to a fence or table without toting extra hardware. I also think the round-the-waist feature is a good thing to have in emergencies. We live two blocks from the World Trade Center site, and evacuated on foot with my late bulldog Mister Hudson on 9/11. As you can imagine, my "go" bag is mostly full of dog stuff -- including a belt-and-carabiner arrangement for attaching the dog to me, which would be useful in case of chaos or injury. The Sporn would meet that need perfectly -- much as we hope and believe that nothing like that will happen again, it's nice to be prepared.

I love the multifunction dog leash. I used one to train a small dog as a service dog last year and that one went with the dog to her new handler. I've got another small dog now and, although I have quite a few leashes, I just had to get another one of these for this dog. I've ordered a lot of stuff from you guys and I've always been pleased.
