 BikerDog Additional Information

Bikerdog "Bone" with rod and leash removed

FAQ about the BikerDog Dog Bicycle Leash

Is BikerDog safe? Yes. When used at the right speed for you and your dog BikerDog is completely safe. We suggest that you consult your veterinarian to make sure your dog is fit enough to run along side a bicycle. Ride at a pace comfortable for your dog and take it slow to help your dog build up his fitness level. It is best for your dog's joints to exercise him on grass or dirt. BikerDog allows the rider to keep both hands on the handle bars at all times and allows for a safe distance between the bicycle and the dog.

Will my dog like BikerDog? As with any new experience, you may see some nervousness in your dog. Take your time and make sure using BikerDog is a fun experience for your dog and he will soon love this new way to spend time with you.

Is BikerDog easy to attach to my bike? Yes, BikerDog attaches to the rear triangle of your frame with 4 hex head screws (hex wrench not included, but it is a common tool). Additional rubber tubing is supplied to go between the brackets and the chainstay to prevent scratching the bike.

Can I keep BikerDog attached to my bike when I’m not walking my dog? Yes. Simply release the pin holding the rubber shaft to BikerDog and pull the shaft out.

Can BikerDog be used as a leash? Yes. After riding with your BikerDog simply unhook the leash end from BikerDog. Keep the leash end attached to your BikerDog harness.

Customer Comments

I was a bit nervous about trying out the Bikerdog, especially with my 2 year old..... My older girl is very well behaved but still! I took her for a very short ride yesterday. This morning I tool the boy first. (again very short) When I put the harness on Grace she barked with excitement and the bike felt very secure (even when she spotted a rabbit!) We will spend a week herding this summer and they will be in shape for that. Thank you! I would definitely recommend this item! - Terry M

Success almost immediately! Pretty amazing how I kept my balance. The harnesses that come with are fantastic, no strangling. My dogs sleep better than ever. I have gone about 2 miles max with them. Just wanted to let you know I love them! Thanks -Jennifer R who rides with her Lab and Golden one on each side of her bike.
